This is my friend and her girlfriend. The girl on the right was killed last night, by what is thought to be a hate crime. They were on a date. They were both shot and dumped in tall grass. They were found this morning by a couple while they were out for a walk. (This is all we know right now) Mollie has passed but her girlfriend, Kristene, is still alive. She is in very critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head. Please pray for her. Think about them. Pass this on. Something. Please. We need her to come through so the people that did this can be put in their rightful spot.
You will always be Loved and never forgotten, Mollie. Rest in Peace, Sweetheart.<3
I hate a lot of things about this article, and the complete lack of mention that this was probably a hate crime (There are other articles that mention more (like lesbianism! Wow!))
Watching Fagbug. I myself have never been a victim of such hate, but I must say that when the baker refused to make our wedding cake because we are gay and made my wife cry… yeah that really pissed me off. You don’t think you are a second class citizen until someone feels the need to remind you.
Oh man. This memory. Like Chris said, we have never really encountered bashing of any sorts, so when the baker originally making my cake said she couldn’t possibly make my cake for me because it would go against everything she believes.
If I had been more prepared I would have argued “Really? You’re just mixing batter and putting it in the oven, you’re even requiring me to make a more simple cake than I want for my wedding ceremony.” But I wasn’t, and I didn’t know what to say. My breath left me and I mostly said “Oh…Oh..I understand.” It was pretty shocking!
Needless to say we got a much better baker who was very supportive. Her daughter who worked at the bakery was even under the LGBT umbrella! They are a super cool, family owned bakery. I should go visit them sometime (they have the best sweets! and our space invaders ice tray too).
